Inniscarra Tourism & Development Group Ltd report on a busy August in Coachford with Inniscarra producing well for the match anglers. Inniscarra is fishing well with plenty of bream and skimmers on most sections.
August the 10th saw the first open match take place on the reservoir since the closure in April and the 38 eager tip anglers were not disappointed. Marius Vrubliaukausas won the match from the Garden Centre section with 29kg.
Otley Feeder Festival
Next up was the first of the three day feeder only festivals and the Yorkshire lads’ annual pilgrimage to the venue for the Otley Feeder Festival. Sensas angler Julian Kendrick from Edenderry smashed the first festival fished solely on the Greenway with 68,540kg over the three days. Fantastic fishing which has seen catches for the majority of the field in double figures. Long may it continue.
Inniscarra TDL aim to enhance the tourism opportunities in the area surrounding the reservoir and facilitate the angling centre as well as manage the Coachford Greenway, a national waymarked trail. They are affiliated members of the National Coarse Fishing Federation of Ireland, NCFFI running a series of coarse angling festivals on Inniscarra from March to October annually, for more information visit www.ncffi.ie/inniscarra-angling
