The draw was held at Castlecoote Lodge where 8 teams waited patiently to find out where they would fish. Teams from across the country turned out with anglers from as far away as Belfast and Donegal as well as Kildare which shows the attraction the River Suck has for anglers.

Sections for the day were

  • Emlagh 1-8
  • Donamon 1-8
  • Donamon 11-18
  • Donamon 24-31

The day started well for everyone with plenty of fish coming and even though it slowed off as the day went on there was still plenty of fish to be caught.

The club wishes to send out their thanks to all who attended and traveled from far and wide to attend and we look forward to seeing a few new faces at our annual 3 day event in 2 weeks time for the 3 day festival which will be held at the same location.

Thanks to IFI (inland fisheries ireland) for their continuous hard work and development of projects in the area who without their hard work an event like this wouldn’t be possible to be held in the area.

Last but by no means least we all thank the Leyden family who allowed us to use their pub for the draw and presentation. Mary Leyden kindly provided refreshments after the competition which is greatly appreciated by all the anglers.
