David McEvoy reports from the Delphi Fishery where the winter is coming…

Just a quick update. Water levels have dropped off and are now running at 17. Water temperatures have also dropped to below 5 degrees. We didn’t bank any more fish since Geordy’s on Monday last, but fish have been seen but not caught.

At the moment, it looks like this week will be difficult with temperatures plummeting to near freezing and below, so any fish got will be hard earned.

We do however have availability in week 11, from the 12th of March up to and including Friday the 16th. It would be a River/Fin rotation, with 2 rods Monday, 4 Tuesday and Wednesday, 6 Thursday and 3 Friday. Boathouse cottages are available also and preference would be given to people staying. I’m sure we’ll have water by then and I would be very hopeful of fish being caught.

Go fishing…

At Delphi Lodge, with many years of experience with the timing of the best runs of fish, we have in place a price system that offers both great value fishing and lets our anglers know when they have the best chance to catch a fresh run spring salmon or a summer grilse or Delphi sea trout.
