Top fly fisher, & Guinness fanatic Doug Bomeisler, Florida, US joined me for a few days hoping to meet his first European Bass, he was very keen to try his own tied flies, one of which connected him with a hard fighting Mullet.
We left that area and settled into another likely spot on an evening flooding tide, fly of choice was my Spring favorite for bass a flatwing sloopy droopy in yellow, after a while a shoal of small sandeel arrived, and it wasn’t long before Doug had his first bass, a couple of quick pic’s, & it was on its way.
