In the Oughterard area Liam Butler and Paul Joyce enjoyed a days trolling on Sunday last with Liam landing a super Corrib trout weighing 16.5lbs.
Staying in the Oughterard area Basil Shields of Ardnasillagh Lodge (091-552550) reports of a slight improvement in trout angling in the area due to a change in weather conditions. Visiting from England, Robin Boyd had one fish on a dry mayfly 3.4lbs. John Magher from Tipperary fished for two days and had eight fish on wet and dry fly. Bradley Smith from England had four fish for his day on Corrib with the best fish three and a half pounds three on dries and one on wets.
Frank Costello in Cong http://www.ashfordoldschoolhouse.ie reports of an improvement in trout angling in the area and enjoyed good dry fly and dapping of artificial mayflies and on Sunday last landed five fish to the boat with his guests with the best fish being three pounds.
