Paul McLaughlin reports on the Naas and District Anglers club social fished on Sunday…
Fantastic fishing today for our club social. Fishing with friends for the big stakes of a fiver a man in very high water levels returned bags of good sized roach. Feeder and waggler tactics were most popular.
Combined in the match was some serious angling in our ongoing knockout challenge with Aussie and Dave Cullen battling it out one on one for a space in the quarter finals. Aussie narrowly took round 1 from David with 9kg vs 7.6 kg . All to play for on the return leg with David having choice of venue.
Overall weights were:
- Aussie 9.025kg
- And newcomer to match angling David Keirns with a fantastic second with 7.900kg
- David Cullen 7.650kg and lukasz with 7.550kg with only a fish between them.
- Shane kavo on the pole with 6.5 kg Padraig O’Riordan on the waggler with 6 kg +.
- Another mention must go to venue expert Sean Campbell with nearly 6kg. Excellent fishing Sean.
The rest of us mere mortals had to settle with weights from 3 to 5 kg.
Great day out with great bunch of lads.
Thanks to all.

NADA INTERMEDIATE TEAMS
Lough Muckno
Sunday 29th Sept
Registration 8.30 Draw 9am
Now in it’s 6rd year we are delighted to announce our intermediate teams event.
This event is designed for those who would like to compete with anglers of a similar ability. It is intended for the anglers that don’t compete at a high level in our sport. As per the last few years we ask anglers of a certain ability to exclude themselves from this event.
All teams will be passed by the committee and will be judged on total team ability. Please do not ask can XYZ fish when we all know they are way above the standard.
Even if you are new to angling get involved in this event as it is a chance to fish one of Ireland top match venues for small outlay in match conditions.
To apply for entry please contact this page or the above numbers.
This is an open match and in keeping with the ethos of the event the money is kept low at 50 euro per team of 4.
Paul McLoughlin.
