01 June: 29 anglers turned out for today’s festival open on the Grand Canal at Edenderry. The fishing was tough enough in parts but fair and with €50 every five pegs to fish for all anglers had a mini section to fish for . Top man on the day was Tommy Burke catching a good mixed bag one off the end ,

Day 1

June 3: Edenderry’s three day festival 2019 kicked off today with 54 anglers taking part. We had some good weights off all the sections so it’s going to be an interesting week ahead.

June 5: Things are starting to shape up after day two in the Edenderry festival with a little over a pound separating the top three anglers. The top three are in different sections but there is a lot of anglers not far behind too. It’s all to play for on the final day Friday.

New members are always welcome to Edenderry Coarse Angling Club.

Apart from the 262 permanent swims that have been created for the match angler on this unique fishery, a number of stretches have been prepared to cater for the pleasure fisherman and the junior angler. Included among these is the famous Edenderry Branch Line. Fished 12 months a year, this highly productive venue regularly produces catches in excess of 50lb per session. Bream, tench, roach, rudd, hybrids, carp, perch and gudgeon are the principal fish species present.
