John Chambers reports for the Irish Federation of Pike Angling Clubs…

The All Ireland Inter Club Team Challenge was held on Sunday 24th November over 4 lakes in the Kingscourt area of County Cavan.

On the day nine teams from around the country took part on Sunday. At the end of the day All Ireland Inter Club Winners 2019 were Newry Pike Anglers A team who recorded a cracking bag of 105lb 6oz. In second place Ardee Blow Ins with 28 pike for 82lb 06oz and third were Whitewood Warriors with 30 pike for 78lb 12oz. Lots of pike caught but no big ones. The biggest was Sean Markey`s and was only 7lb 02oz

In other Federation news, the Go Hire November Qualifierw as fished in Leitrim earlier in the month and Donal O’Reilly and his brother Carl took first and second place on what was a tough day’s fishing with just 33 fish caught by the competitors.

The Irish Federation of Pike Angling Clubs (IFPAC) is a body representing pike anglers in Ireland, North and South.The IFPAC was founded on 17th January 1988 at a meeting held at the Ardboyne Hotel, Navan. The membership for that year stood at fifteen clubs representing six hundred anglers, today membership of IFPAC is approaching 100 affiliated clubs representing in excess of seven thousand anglers from all walks of life.
