Dan O’Neill reports from the River Nore at Mount Juliet…
Salmon fishing so far this season has been quiet although long serving member Brian O’Donahue met a salmon on Friday recently. speaking to Brian he told me the fish made a good account of himself and took him to the backing. September last season was our best month for salmon, so we are hoping that a few more come to the bank for a quick picture.
TNw member Tommy Buggy also had a salmon last week and a nice sized brown trout. Some other anglers that were staying in the hotel fished and had some salmon also, great to see these fish in the river.
There are a couple of spaces still available for the fishing club to take our numbers to 25 members for next season, Winter fly tying classes can also be booked now, groups of upto 5 people can be taken,
