Jason Nash from the Bandon Angling Association reports from the Bandon…
As water levels drop lower and lower, fears are growing we are going to see a repeat of last summer. Fingers crossed this isn’t the case and we get a much needed flood shortly.
Thankfully, although the water is low, it is very clear and largely algae free. A few salmon were caught last week to 10lb. A couple were lost also. Shrimp and spinner worked best and it is good to see some more fish in the system now.
We would like to remind all anglers that no dogs are allowed to be taken onto club waters when fishing. This has been a club rule for a long time now and must be adhered to at all times. Breaking this rule is disrespectful to farmers, landowners and fellow anglers. It will not be tolerated. Acknowledgement of this rule is greatly appreciated.

Kilcoleman Fishery, Enniskeane, is renowned for its hospitality. The owners David and Patricia Lamb make a particular effort to make their guests feel at home. Past visitors have described the atmosphere as ‘laid back’ and the accommodations as ‘cosy’. Kilcoleman is “fly only” throughout the entire season. However, in certain water conditions, spinning is permitted for salmon. Trout angling is “fly only” at all times.
