22/5/19 Straight to the fly and C&R ST department, Currane Angler, Mr. Markus Kruse, of Germany caught a fine 2 lbs. Sea trout on the fly, while fly fishing with his Gillie. For the rest of the Currane anglers it was all quiet on the SW front. Wind SW fresh with reasonable cloud cover. Yesterday’s weather, maximum air temperature 15.7C.
23/5/19 Currane Angler, Mr. Markus Kruse, of Germany takes all the Game Fishing C&R ST headlines. While fly fishing with his Gillie, Markus caught a cracker of a 4 ½ lbs. Sea Trout. For all you doubting Thomas’s we have the first official C&R photos of the first Sea Trout to be released since the new by-law came into effect.So congratulations Markus and not forgetting your Gillie for making a bit of history for future Sea Trout Books on the Waterville Fishery!! Just for the record I’m talking of the first photos to be put up on the blog!! Wind was light SE the veered S and veered again into the SW with misty rain at times. 24/5/19 There was good action from the North Shore and Bungalow, so straight to the action. Currane Angler, Mr. Greg Schneeweis of California USA, caught a fine Salmon on the troll, while fishing with his gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com . Staying at the Bungalow and catch of the day, that goes to Currane Angler, Mr. Michael Wright, of Hull of the UK, who caught two lightening fresh Salmon on the troll, ranging from 8 lbs up to 10 lbs with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com and for the rest of the Currane Anglers it was all quiet on the SW front. Wind NW light with good cloud cover. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 3.7 mm. Maximum air temperature 14.1C.
25/5/19 It’s straight to the C&R ST Index. Currane Angler, Mr. Markus Kruse, of Germany, while fly fishing with his Gillie, caught and released a fine 3 lbs. Sea Trout on the fly. On the Salmon front it was all quiet on the SW front. Wind WSW light to calm and overcast . Yesterday’s weather, maximum air temperature 14.8C.
26/5/19 Breaking News on the Salmon/Grilse, Currane Angler Mr. Markus Kruse, of Germany and fishing out www.lakelandshouse.com catches the first Grilse on the fly, while fishing with his Gillie. So congratulations to you both but their action didn’t stop there because Markus finished his day off with a fine C&R 3 lbs. ST and there isn’t any photo because Markus had such a great battle with his Sea Trout the sooner he released it the better. Now we head for the North Shore and the Bungalow and staying in C&R ST Index, Currane Angler Mr. Robert McDonnell from Co. Monaghan and fishing out of www.butlerarms.com and fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com While C&R fly fishing on the drift caught two fine Sea Trout ranging from 2 lbs. up to 2 ½ lbs. and their photo was taken by Robert himself . Wind N light and variable with reasonable cloud cover. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 6.2 mm. Maximum air temperature 15.3C.

Monaghan and fishing out of www.butlerarms.com and fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com caught and released a fine 1 ½ lbs. Sea Trout on the troll. For the rest of the Currane anglers it was all quiet on all fronts and to be fair to the Currane anglers, it was wild out there with a strong wind from the West with reasonable cloud cover. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 4.6 mm. Maximum air temperature 15.1C.
28/5/19 The Lough Currane Anglers were all quiet on the SW front in all departments. Wind NW light to fresh with good cloud cover. Yesterdays weather, amount of rainfall 4.3 mm. Maximum air temperature 14.0C.
