Charter boat anglers in Wicklow are still getting great results, Kit Dunne reports…

The Tope are still coming, Gary Blake hit his first Specimen Tope while Waterford angler Nicky Mc Evoy brought his specimen tally to 50 with his tope of 43lb. Specimen Hounds are still being recorded with 2 for the Kelly Clan on 31st July. On the species front the Black Bream showed in numbers this year with regular catches for many anglers, Brendan Adams and Paul Smith hit them again, but missed out on the Specimen this year.

There is a great range of species out there at the moment. One group of anglers visiting Ireland 18 types of fish in a day. The Rusty Hooks fished hard last week and managed a couple of unexpected species on the boat – a sea trout and a bass.
