Mick Flanagan has some updates from Lough Bane which opens next month…

Next Friday night Lough Bane Anglers Association will hold their Annual General Meeting, with an 8pm sharp starting time in Moylagh Community Hall. Bane is another lake nesting in North Westmeath, and has a rock steady team of Officers and committee members. The Association regularly stock Lough Bane with quality brown and rainbow trout proving sport for members. Non- members can fish Lough Bane for 20 Euro per day and also there is boat hire available at the same price.

The lake will not open till March 1st, and the association has an action packed competition calendar for 2019. It will kick start on April 14th with the Dromone Engineering Cup top prize.

I also see in 2019 its Lough Bane year to host the Jimmy Nally Memorial Cup. This competition rotates yearly from Bane to Derravaragh.
