Frank Maunsell from the Owenmore Fishery reports that as the levels on the river came up on Sunday the fishing improved…

5th July 2021: I went up to the lake around 7am yesterday and there wasn’t a drop of water on the river and when I arrived back at the Bridge in the evening it was up about a foot. The seatrout were milling in the lower pools and a good number of grisle travelled up as well. A man started to fish below the bridge and he had 9 or 10 trout in about quarter of an hour. The sun came out then and that was the end of that. Two other men went up stream and they couldn’t get over the quality and the number of fish travelling. Even though the water had dropped a good bit today there were 3 grisle landed and A few more were long distance released.
