It was a long barren week on the Galway Fishery, with only a few fish hooked and lost to report. The last few days, however, have seen better fishing. Spring fish this year have been a great average size – 10-12lbs. Simon Lenihan and Davy Hoy both had a fish each on Wednesday and Thursday. The first grilse was also reported, bang on time for Galway.
The duo of Paul Whelan and Eamonn Power took a day off from the Blackwater yesterday and had good sport, with Eamon landing two springers and Paul landing one. All fish were sportingly released.
