Vincent Appleby reports from Lough Currane…
/5/21 All the Salmon headlines goes to Mr. Andy Flaherty and for good reason while fishing with his good friend and local angler Tam, caught a cracker of a 10 lbs. Salmon on the troll and for the rest of the Currane Anglers it was all quiet. Wind NNW light with reasonable cloud cover at times. Just for the record there was snow on the Kerry Mountains this morning as you can see by the photo, on the outskirts of Killorglin.
/5/2 Just 3 boats out on the Big lake and with all their efforts to no avail. Wind NNE then veered NNW light and bright and sunny all day. Looking into the future in the rain department you can look into the future just click.
/5/21 Just two or three boats out and nothing to report this day except for the weather, Wind ESE Fresh to strong with gusts, bright and sunny in the morning, come afternoon it clouded over as we pray for a good flood. Just for the record their forecasting for Waterville, 14.6 mm of rainfall from late tonight and tomorrow?
/5/21 The Brown tag and Barbless Currane anglers were left stranded on the Currane shoreline as a strong SSW took control of today’s manipulations. So, on that note we will go the photographic department, as you can see by this photo taken yesterday by www.fishingwithdom.com of the Ledge, it tells you how low the lake is.
/5/21 Just one Lonesome hand me down Brown Tag angler manipulating his lures on the good waves on Lough Currane this day, by all counts the floorboards showed no evidence of a Wild Atlantic Salmon. Wind SSW fresh and overcast with rain at times.
/5/21 Just 3 boats out this day and nothing for their good efforts, on that note all I can say is one more day to go and one more day of sorrow and then it is the end of the Brown Tag Spring season and the 2021 Salmon and Sea Trout Season can get into full swing on the 12th Wind WNW then veered WSW fresh with reasonable cloud cover followed by the odd shower.
/5/21 Just 3 boats out and all the headlines go to one angry angler and when I say angry that’s an understatement and that’s after catching the last spring hand me down Brown tag Salmon of 2021.
Wind WSW light and variable.
/5/21 The Battle of the real 2021 Salmon and Sea Trout Season got off to a cracking start today with a cracker of 10 lbs. Salmon caught on the troll by Local Gillie Mr. Eric Jouen and of [email protected] so congratulations to Eric for converting to the blue tags in style as well as being a Brown Tag winner and converting his Brown tag into a Salmon. The rest of the Currane Anglers had the blues but no conversions. Wind SSW and Veered NW light to fresh with showers.
