Well charter skipper and their clients are certainly glad to be back on the water and catching fish after the lockdown. And two skippers that were definitely catching fish over the weekend were John Fleming and Kevin MacGabhann, both fishing out of Rossaveal and Spiddal in Galway Bay. John is skipper of the Brazen Hussy, while Kevin skippers the Maighdean Mara. Both have a great knowledge of the bay and all the best fishing marks.
Good catches of pollack were a welcome sight, with plenty of wrasse also and even some cod. Even mackerel were not hard to find, providing bait and good eating, with good size fish throughout.

A regular Galway Bay Safari is from 9am to 6pm. The Maigdan Mara will pick up your party from the pier at Spiddal, County Galway. The boat is yours for the day, though of course skipper Kevin will advise you where the best fishing is to be found. Tackle hire is free.
