River Moy Angling Report week ending 24/07/22
201 salmon were reported caught in the Moy catchment for the last week. Water levels were low for the week. Levels at Ballylahan Bridge on Monday morning were recorded at 0.223 m and began to rise slightly reaching 0.336 m on the Sunday night. Water temperatures also taken from www.waterlevel.ie reached 11.8˚ Celsius at Ballylahan and water temperatures lower down the system at Rahans increased marginally during the week reaching 13.8˚ Celsius.

The Moy Fishery recorded 37 salmon for the week of which 14 were released. All fish were caught on the fly,
Ballina Salmon Anglers reported 8 grilse from 2-5 lbs mostly caught on the worm.
Mount Falcon Fishery reported 12 salmon for the week, all caught on the fly.
Knockmore Salmon Anglers recorded 4 grilse for the week.
Coolcronan Fishery had 4 grilse for the week mostly caught on the prawn and spinning.
Armstrong’s Fishery reported 8 salmon for the week mostly caught on bubble & fly and the shrimp.
Gannon’s Fishery had 3 salmon for the week.
The Foxford Fishery reported 56 grilse, mostly caught on bubble & fly.
Foxford Salmon Anglers reported 22 salmon for the week.
Reports from Foxford Rocks Fishery say that at least 2 grilse were caught for the week.
Cloongee Fishery reported 13 grilse for the week with 6 released, mostly caught on bubble & fly.
East Mayo Anglers recorded 27 salmon for the week, of which 21 were released. Most fish ranged from 3 to 4 lbs weight. Fly and worm were best methods.
Reports from the River Deel suggest that at least 2 salmon were reported caught, spinning.
At least 2 salmon were reported caught on Lough Conn, trolling.
