This report from Kevin Lyons of Melview Fishing Lodge:
Sean, Bill and John, who are regulars to Melview Fishing Lodge, were back once again for another few days Pike fishing. Water levels were very high, making most of their reliable piking locations un-fishable. Host Kevin and the guys had a tactical talk to figure out where the fish might be lying up with the extra water in the system and then it was all down to the lads to keep on the move and locate the fish.
The first couple of the spots turned up nothing, but sticking with the plan to keep on the move and go after the fish, their luck changed when they managed three lovely from the next likely spot – with two being over the magic 100cm. Dead baits, fished either static or under a float, produced the fish during their stay and all fish were released in good condition to fight another day.

Host Kevin reckons that they did really well considering the much higher water levels – ‘Thanks guys for your company and look forward to seeing you again soon!’.
