Mick Flanagan, of Midlands Angling and Shooting, teamed up with old pal Jimmy Murray this week for some pike fishing on lure and fly. Jimmy, who was home from New York, loves to fly fish for pike and hadn’t shared a boat with Mick in years.
The pike were hard going, often coming short or missing the lures altogether, but Jimmy persevered and nailed a super 110cm fish as well as hooking a few others. Mick had no such luck on his new Cali Glide Lure that came from across the Atlantic, but has no doubts that it will nab a few fish on another day!
