Salmon angling remains poor throughout the Munster Blackwater main channel and its tributaries. Anglers are very scarce on the fisheries upstream of Fermoy, with most effort on the fisheries downstream of Fermoy. The Cappoquin Salmon Anglers reported a good day on Saturday the 12th, with possibly 6 salmon taken on their waters. Salmon have started to colour up already for the spawning season.
No observations or reports from Trout anglers over the period.
Water levels are currently described as ideal for salmon angling with normal river levels & a slight peaty tinge.
