Pete Davis of West Cork and District SAC reports on their latest competition, fished at Broadstrand…

Unlike our previous fixture, the weather didn’t work in our favour for the clubs’ latest fixture. The Longstrand was to be the original venue but it was unfishable so Broadstrand was used as the back up venue. Broadstrand is usually a comfortable sheltered venue but conditions on the night made it hard on all the anglers.

Jason Convery had a good first two hours putting dogfish on the card. A late burst from Mark O Sullivan would see him catch up with Jason but the night belonged to Barry O Rourke who had a good last two hours. Barry found dogfish at distance adding a conger in amongst them, then a bass of 51cm and finally the best fish on the night an 87cm bullhuss. Well done Barry.

  • 1st- Barry O Rourke – 12 fish= 416pts
  • 2nd- Mark O Sullivan – 7 fish = 270pts
  • 3rd- Jason Convery -5 fish= 233pts
