Skipper Luke Aston says it has been another week of mixed weather, wind restricting fishing to the confines of the Shannon Estuary at times, but they did get out west on other days.

A shark drift on Friday produced a nice porbeagle to the boat. There were plenty of fine whiting caught from the bottom, with a few bonus garfish landed too.

Regular guests Detlef and Werner arrived, and their first day spent in the estuary produced some nice fishing at stages in the tide. A few tiny tope pups were also caught, hopefully a good sign for the future.

Another day in the estuary produced thornback ray, but fishing was generally quiet, however a trip out west followed. Despite a windy start and a slow steam, they were rewarded with a lovely drift and great sport on spinning gear with shads.
