By the time we get to November, many of our charter fleet will have hauled anchor on the fishing season, leaving the wind, rain and cold until next year. Not so at Wicklow Boat Charters, as Kit Dunne seizes on any break in the weather to get amongst the fish.

Last week he took a trip out to the deeps in search of Spurs, and while he got the quantity he was looking for (over 60 fish) he didn’t quite get the quality, as all were the wrong side of a meter.

Later in the week, he fished closer in, and anglers were rewarded with some fine fishing given the time of year. Eight Bullhuss to 110cm, along with a couple of decent tope to 153cm shows that the fish are still there despite the fact it’s nearly Xmas…
