Charter boats fishing for bluefin in Donegal Bay reported great tuna action during the week with fish up to 600lbs. caught, tagged and released.

On their first day tuna fishing this season, Killybegs Fishing Trips came across a feeding frenzy which resulted in a double hook up. They finished the day with a total of four fish to the boat losing a fifth which spit the hook after 15mins into the fight. What a fantastic start to the season!

Ewings Sea Angling and Boat Charter fishing out of Rosses Point, Co. Sligo did equally well on their first day out hunting bluefin tuna this season, hooking 6 fish, while Tuna.ie had multiple BFT close to 500 lbs. over several days this past week.

Super fish for customers of Ewings Sea Angling & Boat Charter
Great fishing also for tuna.ie

Last but not least, anglers aboard Kiwi Girl based at Mullaghmore and skippered by Declan Kilgannon also enjoyed great tuna action this week and this amidst a pod of humpback whales…fishing can’t get any better!

Big tuna for Kiwi Girl
