The National Coarse Fishing Federation of Ireland (NCFFI) report on a couple of festivals held recently where weights exceeded 100kg for the top anglers competing.
It was a fantastic weeks fishing for the Lough Rynn Angling Club festival on the rowing lake within the castle grounds in County Leitrim with over 300kg caught by the top 3! Won by Julian Kendrick with a massive 118kg, backed up by Tony Green with 110kg and Kevin Johnson 99kg.
23yrs running and it was the closest finish yet at the Dunbrody Festival on Oaklands lake. Runner up Kieran Reeves pushed winner Leo Lynch all the way to his 163.570kg festival win with just 2kg between them. In third place was Paddy O’Neill with 144.380kg and it was a combined weight of 303.420kg for the winning pair Kieran Reeves and youth international John Browne.
