Joe Fitzharris writes his last report of the year from Lough O’Flynn…
Lake O’Flynn & District Anglers held their last event of the year on Sunday 1-st Oct. The McCarthy cup is the clubs confined club members competition and is gratefully sponsored by Robert Flynn, Castlerea, and Gowan & Bradshaw, Galway. This event was reasonably well supported and returned a popular winner in regular Donegal visitor Michael Farry with a good Fish weighing 2lb 15.0 oz.
Results were as follows,
- 1-st place and winner of McCarthy Cup (2023) Michael Farry with a trout of 2 lb 15.0 oz.
- 2-nd John Gaffey, Fish for 2- lb 11.6 oz.
- 3-rd John Burke, Fish for 2 – lb 10.0 oz.
- 4-th Mark Malone, Fish for 2 – lb 06.2 oz.
The presentation of prizes was held in the Kilmore Inn where refreshments were served.
