David McEvoy has good news from Delphi, where a run of spring fish produced some good fishing last week, with 6 fish landed

Oliver Ross strruck first on the 12th, with a 10.5lbs fish taken on a Willie Gunn from Finlough. Next was Mauricio Gordillo on the 13th, with a 7.5lbs fish from Horseshoe Pool, taken on a Delphi Collie.

The following day Seamus O’ Neill also hit the jackpot in the Horseshoe, and also fishing a Delphi Collie he landed a fine fish of 13lbs.

Dominic Breen-Turner visited from the Isle of Wight, UK and landed his first ever salmon.a fine 10lbs fish from the Fin stream. Just to make it more special, Dominic was fishing a Cascade on a 100-year-old split cane rod belonging to his grandfather, 10lbs.

Another angler to catch his first salmon was Elias Osterkorn from Germany. Elias fished a Willie Gunn and landed a fresh 8.5lbs fish off Finlough.

Finally retired pro baseball pitcher Rick Porcello visited from the US and landed his first ever salmon from the Rock Pool on a Sunray Shadow. And what a first fish! 91cm of picture perfection, estimated at 17lbs 12oz according to length-weight conversion charts. The wild fish was released again after a quick photo that will no doubt soon be mounted on Rick’s wall at home.
