This report from the organisers of the Lough Ree Predator Challenge 2024:
First day of September Sunday Lough Ree Predator Challenge 2024 took place on fabulous Lough Ree, 35 teams, 70 anglers started on the morning, what we call the best Lough Ree Predator Challenge since we started this 4 years ago.
The 4th edition of this unique event in Ireland brought together the best lure anglers from all over the island to fish for 3 Predator species.
After check-in all teams line-up on the starting line waiting for starting signal at 9am, after that beautiful and powerful boats scattered on the sector, hoping to find active fish, target species Pike, Perch and Trout. Fishing for 3 Predator species in one day it’s not that easy but skilled anglers managed quickly to find active fish, FishDonkey was “hoping” all day and leaderboard was in continuous changes up to 5pm!
During the competition an impressive amount of fish were caught and released for future generations!
Total number of fish caught and added on the app 172 :
- 111 Pike over 60cm, longest 108cm
- 36 Perch over 25cm, longest 35
- 25 Trout over 30cm, longest 75cm
At the end this “rolecoaster” leaderboard finally came to a stop, was time to check all results and add bonus to teams who managed to catch all 3 species and at the end to see the winners of this year competition.
