Moy Catchment angling report week ending 21/04/24

Lee Carr with his 5.2lbs. salmon from Cloongee Fishery

The waterlevel at Ballylahan bridge rose to approximately 1.73m on Monday 15th, as the week progressed water levels dropped to a more suitable fishing height by Sunday evening. Cloongee Fishery produced its 1st reported salmon of the season on Friday 19th with a 5.2lbs. salmon caught on a spinner by Lee Carr. We have unconfirmed reports of 1 salmon caught on the Deel River and 2 other salmon from what is known as the lake river upstream of the Cloongee Fishery. The angling effort has been relatively low, but some anglers who were out reported seeing the odd salmon on some stretches of the Moy.
