32 members of the Ardee Pike Anglers hit the banks for their Buddy Martin Memorial competition at the weekend, and the great turnout was matched by the pike, who also turned out in good numbers on the day. 170 fish were landed in total, which is a pretty healthy figure, and seven of those fish were doubles. It was a close-run thing in the end, with Robbie McShane’s 62lb 8oz bag just pipping Danny Reilly, who had a final tally of 61lb 4oz. But at least Danny managed to take the heaviest fish prize, as his 15lb pike was the best fish of the day.
