Our repeat day guest Steve from the UK had the honor to catch our first pike of the 2025 season this week. Conditions were fair and water levels near normal for the time of year. On a slow day he was rewarded with a fine Roscommon pike in the low-teens.
A couple days later, we had the pleasure guiding a US group from Washington State. It was their first time in Ireland and after visiting the Cliffs of Moher, they decided to try their hands on pike fishing for the very first time…Cutting a long story short, they had a ball and were rewarded with a number of nice pike. Young Ely was particularly happy, having caught his very first pike which is new species for the keen hunter and angler.
Susan was equally delighted with her first pike and a fine pike it was! It took her only 5 minutes casting lures before the solid fish took…what a fantastic start of a memorable day’s fishing!
