Anglers aboard the Clare Dragoon have enjoyed some good fishing of late, with a mix of whitefish on offshore reefs, when the weather permitted, and ray, bull huss and tope in the Shannon Estuary when sheltered fishing was the preferred option. Spurdogs have also been plentiful, with these and bull huss well into double figures giving good sport.

Bull huss

One spurdog had an unfortunate end, when somethign much larger, with very sharp teeth, intercepted it on the way up, leaving nothing but bits of spurdog sliced almost into steaks! A large porbeagle shark, perhaps, or…. ?

Sliced and diced!
