Skipper Sean Maguire has his boat, the Isle of Aran, back in the water and fishing again for the new season.
A first trip out at the weekend saw perfect weather conditions, although an easterly wind and ebb tide didn’t help the fishing. The German couple aboard still had some very nice early season mackerel, although the pollack fishing was slow.
Another fine day early this week saw a father and son from Wisconsin USA aboard, and another fantastic day on the Atlantic. Light northwesterly breeze and flood tide, fishing was much better. Lots of good size wrasse, pollock, pouting and coalfish, although no sign of mackerel today.
