Our 2nd evening catch and release competition of 2026 got off to an absolutely fantastic start, with a wonderful turnout and a great number of entries joining us.
The evening as a whole supported great fishing conditions with a lovely south west wind along with plenty of cloud cover which kept the fish active.
From the outset it was nets in the water with bent rods for most boat as the fish seemed to be on a feeding frenzy with everyone enjoying the peace and excitement of the sport despite the misty showers.
Over all most anglers had good catch with some boats reporting 10+ fish to the boat.
Due to the nature of a catch, photo, release competition all fish were returned safely ready to fight another day.
It was also great to greet two new junior angler who attended and became members of the club along with both receiving prizes.
A huge thank you to Peter Corcoran for boating these two young gentlemen for evening.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who took part and supported the event. Your enthusiasm and spirit made this competition a huge success, and we are already looking forward to welcoming even more people to our next event.
