Billy Downes reports that as of today the water on the Laune is up 6 inches and is now just over 1 foot 6 inches on the gauge at Johnston’s. Nice to see a fresh drop of water. There should be a good fishing effort over the weekend and probably more water on the way but that’s no harm. Over last weekend a good few salmon rant the system with news of 6 caught.
There were also some good sea trout caught the best being 3 lbs caught by Patrick Richard. The best salmon of the week fell to Domhnall O Suilleabhain a 12 pounder on the fly last Friday at Paul Connors.
Prospects: For the the weekend are good. There will be salmon, grilse and sea trout caught over the weekend, will it be you at the other end of the rod?

Go fishing…
Anglers please note: A ‘One Day’ salmon permit for Beat 3 only costs €25 probably the best value in salmon fishing in the country with a good chance of a fish.
