A coarse match was held today Sunday 6th April on Annagheirin Lake in Co Cavan with members of Carrickmacross and Drogheda Coarse Angling Clubs. Although temperatures were high today and the water was in perfect condition high squally winds made fishing difficult. Hitting the mark was tough but all of the young anglers managed well on the day. Nine anglers fished and Lee Harris of the Carrickmacross Coarse Anglers took top honours in the Match with a nice net weighing 5lb 10ozs. Second place went to Shane O’Reilly of Drogheda Coarse Angling Club and Stephen White took third with 2lbs 14ozs. Jamie Edwards was just pipped into fouth position. The young Carrickmacross anglers again demonstrated their high skill set with a great performance by all youth members of the club.
