I had the pleasure of accompanying anglers from Liverpool to Ireland last week for the Anglers World Angling Festival held on the River Shannon at Banagher, County Offaly.

Experience is priceless on the Irish Scene as these huge waters can be daunting and capable of throwing up colossal weights.

As the week went on through the five day event, I was soon reminded that confidence was just as important as the enormous amounts of tackle and bait the 41 competitors from all over England were hauling to their pegs….
