05 April: The first 5 days of the week brought wet, windy and cold weather conditions which were distinctly unpleasant! Easter Saturday and Sunday however were glorious, sunny spring days and the air temperature on Sunday was 16°C! The river fished well over the week and there were salmon caught on most days of the week.
On Monday, Andy Lattimer recorded an 11lb salmon caught on a fly from Briney’s.
On Wednesday, John Parkinson reported a 10lb salmon caught on a Flying ‘C’ lure from The Meadow and Billy Grimes accounted for a 7lb salmon caught on a Rapala lure, also from The Meadow.
On Thursday, Brian McEvoy caught and released a 7lb salmon on a spinner from The Meadow and Joe Broderick reported an 11lb salmon caught on a Rapala lure from Money Hole.
On Saturday, Billy Gilbert recorded a 7lb salmon caught on a Flying ‘C’ lure from Briney’s. Karen Fergusson reported an 8lb salmon caught from the Sea Pool and Eamon McCallian accounted for a 7lb salmon caught on a spinner from The Meadow.
