Angling guide Eamonn Conway reports on trout fishing in the north east over the weekend. The River Fane is in perfect fishing order for fishing at the moment. The trout are being caught on all methods and there is plenty of fly life on the river. Trout are rising confidently to dry fly including large dark olives. The Dundalk brown trout anglers held there annual senior fly competition over the weekend and there was plenty of trout caught and released. Local angler Justin Bird caught and released a trout of nineteen inches. Eamonn says that it goes to show the River Fane still has a head of big trout in the river.
