Fisheries Awareness Week kicked off in Drogheda on Friday evening 16th May with two events run by the Drogheda and District Anglers Club. An “Introduction to Fly Fishing” was held for youths at Kilineer Reservoir and an “Introduction to Fishing”, spinning and bait was held at Barnattin Reservoir Drogheda. At Kilineer ten young anglers accompanied by parents and guardians learned the basics of fly fishing. Club members helped with the casting and hook ups and the youngsters got to play the fish and release them unharmed back to the water. A fun filled evening was had by all.
