Dan O’Neill reports from the river Nore at Mount Juliet:

A great week on the fishery, plenty of trout caught on dry flies, wet flies and nymphs.

The trout I got to see myself were all in great condition and gave an excellent account of themselves when hooked. The evening rise over the weekend was strong and fly life was in abundance.  Water levels are now at 0.29 on the gauge, the thunderstorm showers rose the river slightly but it dropped back within 24hrs.

A Nore brownie goes back

There are plenty of gudgeon and minnow along the margins also and eels seem to be more plentiful this season which is great to see.
