Very good coarse fishing was enjoyed by most anglers at Lanesborough over the past nine days.
At a recent competition run by coarseandmatch.com Paddy Smullen bagged 28kg on the pole to win, this is the best bag from the venue we have had reported to us recently. Leigh Maitland from Ballyhaunis came 2nd with 22kg using the whip. Steve Thompkins, 3rd, had19kgs on the waggler.
Rudd, bream and hybrids to 3 lb have being making up the bulk of the catches and there are still plenty of tench to 5 lb about.
