Kevin Lyons reports on coarse fishing for his clients fishing waters near his base at Melview Lodge in Co. Longford.
Nigel Reed along with friends Howard and Alan all from the Devon area were over for their fishing holiday and this year stayed with Kevin and Jane at Melview Lodge in Longford, fishing on prebaited swims the Bream were a little slow to get going. The main catches consisted of Roach, Hybrids and skimmers, and the best Bream went to Howard at around 5 lb. Alan and friend Nigel did manage to catch some nice Tench as a bonus.
Some of the lakes and loughs in and around Longford have been affected by the weather over the past few weeks with the temperatures up and down like a yoyo, they have been producing fish but not the weights normally caught this time of year, Bream to 5 lb along with Hybrids, Roach, skimmers and some nice Tench to around 5 lb have featured. Next week we will have some more reports for you, good fishing.
