Coarse anglers will be delighted to hear that the angling access development works are continuing at great pace this week on Lough Muckno at Black Island, White Island and Concra Wood. As a result of the works, access is unavailable in the areas being developed until the works are finished. The progress has been great and we all look forward to the works being completed in the coming weeks. The wait will be more than worthwhile though, as the upgrading of the tracks and provision of parking bays will mean that anglers will be able to access up to circa 300 pegs and parking on these sections. Anglers are requested not to fish the sections being developed during while the development works are being carried out.
Despite the works, there is a hectic schedule of events planned for Lough Muckno over the next few weeks, starting with the Dutch match which is now in year three. It is being fished from 1st to the 7th September at Church Shore and anglers are requested to respect the pegged sections in this area. The following is the planned schedule from 1st September right through to 6th October.
