€15,000 is being allocated to Leitrim County Council to provide flood defences on the Glenfarne river.
The grant which will facilitate the removal of blockages in the river and will allow for the clearance of trees and debris has been approved by Minister of State Brian Hayes.
The news is being welcomed by Senator Michael Comiskey and Deputy Tony McLoughlin as well as local councillors.
