ANGLING NOTES:Â GOOD NUMBERS of spring salmon are running the river in Galway and with low water conditions, fly anglers are enjoying good sport, as indeed are shrimp fishers. Athenry angler Declan Tuffy started the week off with a nice grilse, and ended it with a fine salmon of 6.1kg (13.5lb), both taken on fly.
Water levels are perfect at the moment and prospects look good for the coming week.
