Freezing temperatures over the last few nights have resulted in a mini freeze in the north east with many small lakes frozen over with a light film of ice. Even mighty Lough Muckno succumbed to the freezing temperatures and swims at White Island, Black/Yellow Island and Concra Wood were all covered in ice today however, the stretch at South Lodge was surprisingly ice free. According to the weather forecast frost in the east and north will clear slowly on Wednesday morning and although temperatures look set to rise a little it might take a bit of time for the ice to melt fully. Anglers are advised not to venture out onto the ice at any time to access fishing as this may result in serious injury or loss of life. Please fish safely and do not put yourself or others in danger.
