Week 27 was disappointing from a fishing perspective, despite good water conditions. There were also fish entering the system but there was little or no take on them. There was a total of 10 fish landed for the week.

Giovanni Mazzloeni had 2 fish on Monday, one of approx. 4lbs8ozs from the Whin pool and one of 3lbs7ozs from Fin. The fish were taken on a Collie Dog and a Black and Yellow tube.

On Tuesday Alan Molloy had a 3lbs13.5ozs fish off Finlough on a Willie Gunn.

Raul de Waha managed to land one on a Willie Gunn on Wednesday of 5lbs7ozs from Finlough.

Friday, Brian O’Donohoe had one of 2lbs12ozs from the Deadman’s on a Ghost shrimp; Bob Lawlor had one of approx. 7lbs on a Thunder and Lightening from the Quarry and Giovanni Mazzoleni had his third of the week on a Green Highlander of 6lbs6ozs from the NewIslandpool.

On Friday Urs Leibundgut arrived and it took him until Saturday afternoon to catch fish. He had one from the Quarry of 4lbs13.5ozs on an Improved Helmore’s Hackles and then he landed a fine sea liced fish of 7lbs10ozs from the Whin pool on a Hairy Mary.

There appears to be a good number of fish coming in at the moment but there is very little take not helped by a Northerly airflow.

Hopefully fish will become more co-operative this week.
