The good run of fish continues. The water level has dropped back to 0.65 metres on the gauge. It has been a good week’s fishing with lots of fish running and good catches, with many fish on fly despite relatively high water levels. A group of Spanish anglers have shown that football isn’t their only sport by chalking up some impressive catches during their week’s stay.
Fly and prawn accounted for most of the fish during the week. A. Kendal and S. Kingham had good sport on prawn and released 8 fish between them. John O’Neil had a bumper morning on Briney’s with 4 fish on fly, releasing 2. This morning there have been some nice fish of 7 to 8lbs reported from the Washstones and Money Hole on prawn. There have been fish on fly from the Mill Pool, Upper Mill, Crooked Hole, Briney’s and Lennox’s and there have been fish on worm from the Mill, Upper Mill and Black Hole as well as fish on spinner from Lennox’s and Melly’s.
The forecast is for some rain over the week ahead but not large amounts so the water level should continue to drop slowly.
